Everyone knows about ManHunt, the hook-up site; not as many know about On The Hunt, which recruits amateurs from the huge ManHunt membership base with the tantalizing offer of becoming a porn star. The site has attracted a diverse group of hot amateurs, many who are attracted by the twist: the guy directing and filming the shoot is a celebrity porn star.

The roster includes Rafael Alencar, Trevor Knight, Jeremy Hall, Arpad Miklos and several others. With over 400 episodes, including bonus material, this turns out to be a fun mix of horny amateurs and experienced porn stars in good quality videos.

Tour

Hit the On the Hunt Tour button and you'll be able to page your way through the entire roster of 400 episodes. There are 100 explicit one minute preview clips placed randomly through the episode pages, along with a good quality image gallery. This number of clips gives you a very good idea of the type and quality of the videos and of the streaming and download options.

Usability

You won't have to hunt around too much to find what you want, as the navigation is very easy. The video index starts right on the homepage displaying the "Latest Hookups" in a grid . Use the "Sort Episodes" box to filter by model, niche or porn star director. Video options are displayed very clearly.

The Men and the Action

The models at On The Hunt are chosen from Manhunt members. These guys run the gamut from muscular inked-up hunks, to collegiate guys, twinks, Latinos, African-American, Asian, a few mature guys, and even a couple of leather men. Since this site is about hookups, there are few solo episodes. Each video is described in a couple of paragraphs on its own page. We're also told which celebrity camera jockey (or the Casting Director) is filming the scene. Unfortunately, there are no stats for the models.

The action usually unfolds in a conventional living room or bedroom, often starting with an interview of the duo or group. Up until recently the site featured only one camera video shoots, which we found a bit limiting at times. The more recent movies are shot with two cameras. At the same time there is a range of sexual styles, tastes, preferences and a few fetishes on display. Note almost half of the videos are "Bonus Episodes," which include behind-the-scenes material as well as solo scenes.

Video Details

Most of the videos have good viewing quality, though the largest videos have a default size of 864x480; nudging this up to 960x540 and increasing the bitrate would bring them more in line with the best sites. The lighting is competent, though not perfect. When it comes to overall composition, including editing, variety of poses, and the number of camera angles and medium and close-up shots, there is some variation due to the conditions and the skill levels of the porn star directors. We're noticing more of a guiding hand on recent videos to ensure quality -- an adjustment of the decision in earlier videos to leave the action as "natural" as possible, with little editing.

As of this review the video count on On the Hunt is 405 episodes, of which half are bonus episodes, with one full-length and one bonus video added each week. The videos average almost 35 minutes each, including the interview portion.

Image and Other Content

Each video page also has a gallery of ten good-sized digital photos. If you want to see more pictures you have to download a zip file of them. It would be good to see all the images in galleries as well as having the zip file choice.

Summing Up

On The Hunt is a fun concept, delivering true amateurs in videos shot by porn stars. It doesn't always work perfectly due to set conditions and shooting style, but if you're looking for some porn with a different angle, this site is definitely worth your attention.
